Maven Media

About

I build the tracking, then I buy the media.

Maven Media is one person: me. Not a team’s aggregate numbers, not an account manager you never hear from again. Just an operator who has spent the last decade inside these accounts.

Keith Guirao, founder of Maven Media

Hi, I’m Keith

I run Maven Media out of Bergenfield, New Jersey, in Bergen County, and I’ve been buying media long enough to have made most of the mistakes myself. These days I spend almost all of my time on one thing: Meta Ads for finance, insurance, and loan advertisers. It’s a narrow lane. It is also the one I know cold.

How I got here

I did not start in media buying.

  1. 2008

Email, before it was cool again

I started in email and digital marketing, back when that still needed air quotes. At peak I was sending 100 million emails a month and landing about 94% of them in the inbox, which at that volume is mostly a deliverability and data problem, not a copywriting one. It was only possible because of data management agreements with partners, and it’s where I learned that the plumbing decides the result. Not media buying yet.

  2. 2012 to 2017

Into media buying, and into the codebase

Google Ads, Local Services Ads, YouTube. I learned paid acquisition on platforms where the tracking was more forgiving than Meta, which turned out to be good training. I also went all in on the engineering side in this stretch, working across front-end and back-end stacks. That’s where the analytical habits and the business acumen got sharp, and why I’d rather read the data layer than take a dashboard’s word for it.

  3. 2017

    All in on Meta

This is where the regulated-vertical work took over, and where building my own server-side tracking stopped being optional.

Why I build my own tracking

A developer who happens to buy media.

I have a degree in Information Technology and Web Applications from NJIT. That is not a line I put here to look smart. It’s the reason Maven Media works the way it does.

When iOS 14 gutted the Meta pixel and everyone started losing 20 to 40% of their conversions, most agencies shrugged and blamed Apple. I could actually do something about it, so I built the server-side tracking myself. I still do. It’s the part most agencies outsource or quietly skip, and it’s usually the difference between an account that scales and one that stalls.

The lane I stay in

About 90% of my work is finance, insurance, and loans.

These are Meta’s Special Ad Category verticals: tighter policy, less targeting, a lower tolerance for a sloppy setup, and a real chance of losing the account if you get it wrong.

Most agencies avoid this stuff. I went the other way and specialized in it. When your whole book is regulated verticals, you stop guessing about what trips a policy review and start knowing.

The track record

$10M+

Ad spend managed

120+

Accounts

$600K/mo

Peak per month

0

Permanent bans

I’ve personally managed $10M+ in ad spend across 120+ accounts, up to $600K/mo at peak. Across all of them, zero permanent account bans.

Accounts still get flagged. That’s normal in these verticals, and I’ve resolved plenty. The difference is I treat Meta policy as a hard constraint and risk-check every setup before it scales.

Disclaimer: a banned account means any account that was flagged and permanently banned by Meta due to forces outside Maven Media’s control. Meta enforces its policies at its own discretion, and no agency can guarantee an account against restriction. The zero permanent bans figure reflects Maven Media’s management practices to date and is not a guarantee of future outcomes.

What working with me is like

You work with me. Not a junior.

Not a rotating account manager, not a dashboard you have to interpret yourself. I’ll tell you the truth about your account even when it isn’t what you want to hear, and I’ll tell you if you’re not a fit.

I take on advertisers spending $20,000/month or more on Meta. Below that, management isn’t the right call, and I’d rather say so than take the retainer.
